If you're asking me, of course I'm going to tell you it was doomed to success from the start. And, in the final analysis, all that really matters is that it did indeed succeed. The risk was great, as you know. The odds were heavily in favor of failure, but the risk was overcome and the odds were beaten. Fortunately, the end came quickly.
