The battle commenced. Those on the
left flank charged the right. Fierce fighting ensued. Nationalist fervor
was at the peak. Thick swirling clouds of dust and gas obscured the
landscape. The leader of the squares fell, mortally mounded. Some men
mere trampled by the frightened elephants. A well-aimed missle destroyed
the concrete bunker of the pentagonals' command, shattering it like an
egg-shell. By day's end, the pents had a firm grasp on the squares'
domain; the squares captured the pents' principal city. The enemies were
subdued. A young female child of unknown origin was found dead on the
battlefield. |
